Dr Peter Dillon, following a post-doc at Cornell University, worked with CSIRO Land and Water 1985-2014, leading Australian research teams on groundwater quality protection, stormwater harvesting, water recycling and managed aquifer recharge. With Ian Gale (BGS) he founded the IAH Commission on Managing Aquifer Recharge in 2001 which he co-chaired until 2019, to promote a collaborative scientific basis to advance international MAR practice, policy and training. He has assisted formation of several innovative MAR projects, edited 10 books and authored 150 journal papers and 200 reports including the Australian Guidelines for MAR. He continues in Adelaide as an honorary CSIRO Research Fellow, an adjunct Chair at Flinders University in the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training and in consulting.
